The Toastmasters Educational Program

The development of communication skills is undertaken through the Pathways educational program.

Pathways is an evolution in the Toastmasters experience because you now get to customize your learning experience to fit your goals and needs. You have the flexibility to choose what you want to learn about and which skills to improve. You decide how to complete your Toastmasters education. It is all up to you.

Pathways sets you on a journey of personal and professional development. It offers many different avenues for you to explore and achieve. It’s a journey that reflects the Toastmasters mission of helping individuals reach their full potential. A journey in which you can keep striving to reach your goals.

Pathways allows you to explore brand-new, dynamic projects that the current program doesn’t offer. You learn new skills and use them to help you gain that promotion at work or plan that family event. With Pathways, you broaden your abilities to meet the goals you’ve set for yourself.

The Pathways program is based around five disciplines that allow you to develop core competencies:

Public Speaking and Interpersonal Communication

Public Speaking and Management

Public Speaking and Strategic Leadership

Interpersonal Communication and Strategic Leadership

Interpersonal Communication and Management

Within these disciplines there are ten paths that you can select:

Motivational strategies

Presentation Mastery

Leadership Development

Innovative Planning

Visionary Commmunication

Strategic Relationships

Dynamic Leadership

Persuasive Influence

Effective Coaching

Team Collaboration

Each of the ten paths have five levels of learning. Some of the projects in each learning path are required, others are elective:

Level 1: MasteringFundamentals

Level 2: Learning your Style

Level 3: Increasing Knowledge

Level 4: Building Skills

Level 5: Demonstrating Expertise

Public speaking is an important component of all paths. It’s a skill you’ll be practicing no matter which path you choose. In fact, each path requires you to give a minimum of 15 prepared speeches.

Join Surrey Hills Toastmasters Club and advance yor communication skills through the Toastmasters Pathways program.
